to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the
Declaration of Independence and 50th anniversary
of the 1876 Centennial Exposition, which had also
been hosted by Philadelphia. |

International Exposition was held in San Francisco, California,
from February 20 to December 4, 1915 to
commemorate the opening of the Panama Canal and
the 400th anniversary of the discovery of the
Pacific Ocean by Vasco Balboa |
The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific
Exposition, also known
as the Seattle World's Fair, was held June 1 -
October 16, 1909 to publicize development of the
Pacific Northwest and the importance of Seattle
in Oriental trade. |

Jamestown
Exposition as held at
Norfolk, Virginia, April 26 to December 1, 1907,
to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the
founding of Jamestown, the first permanent
English settlement in America. |
