Rufous-Necked
Hornbill (Aceros nipalensis)
The common name of this hornbill
derives from the coloration of the males --
rufous head and underparts, with black back and
wings; females are dark brown to black all over. |
The Blue-Throated
Bee-Eater (Merops viridis) is distinguished from other bee-eaters
by its chocolate head, nape and upper back and
its blue throat. Found in East and Southeast
Asia, this species is unique in that it breeds in
Singapore and the Malay Peninsula but winters in
Indonesia. |
