God (1932), after which her career
went through a series of ups and downs. She was
nominated for several Academy Awards, and won two
for Best Actress. She also won a Best Actress
Emmy Award. |
Phyllis
Diller (Phyllis Ada Driver) studied
to be a concert pianist and then spent several
years raising five children and working as a
newspaper columnist before finally turning to a
career in comedy. Although she has appeared in
numerous movies and television specials, she
never gave up her dreams of being a concert
pianist, and has appeared as a soloist with some
100 symphony orchestras. |
