PlutarchPlutarch is believed to have been responsible for at least 227 books and treatises of various lengths. Of these his Morals and Parallel Lives are the best known. Parallel Lives was for centuries the main source of knowledge of the Greco-Roman world. OvidOvid considered Metamorphoses to be his greatest work. It is a narrative poem that includes more than 200 tales taken from the favorite legends and myths of the ancient world, arranged in chronological order from the creation of the world to Julius Caesar.
