Wilhelm IIWilhelm II Friedrich Wilhelm Viktor Albrecht was born in Berlin on January 27, 1859, the son of Crown Prince Frederick William of Prussia and Victoria, Princess Royal of Great Britain. As Emperor Wilhelm II (1888-1918), he oversaw unprecedented growth in German industry and built up the army and navy, but abdicated during the closing days of World War I.
