Vaclav HavelVáclav Havel was a playwright who became an activist following the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968. In 1989 he was elected the first President of the Czechsolovak Socialist Republic. In 1993 he became the first President of the Czech Republic.
