Dutch West India Company at the southern tip of
Manhattan Island in 1624. Originally founded to
protect Dutch fur trade operations in the Hudson

The Lincoln
Memorial is 189 feet
long, 118-2/3 feet wide, and 99 feet high. The
interior is dominated by a statue of Abraham
Lincoln that stands 19 feet high and is 19 feet
across. Construction began on February 12, 1915,
and the memorial was dedicated on May 30, 1922. |
