Flags of the Mexican-American War

All four of the flags below flew at one point or another during the Mexican War.

flag of the Republic of Texas The Republic of Texas was declared on March 2, 1836, with the Lone Star Flag as its banner.
national flag of Mexico during the war The flag at left was the national flag of Mexico during the war. This specific flag was actually taken in battle by American troops.
flag of the Fourth Regiment of Indiana Volunteers Each of the United States regiments had its own flag that the troops followed into battle. At left are the colors of the Fourth Regiment of Indiana Volunteers.
colors of the United States Eighth Infantry Regiment This flag was carried by the United States Eight Infantry Regiment.
